Questions people ask

Frequently asked questions

How do I start doing volunteer work?
Choose a cause you care about and the time you can give, even two hours a month. Find an organisation working on it, tell them your skills and availability, and begin with a small task. With us, fill in the Join form, choose the hands you would like to help with, and we will get in touch.
Where are volunteers needed the most?
Where help is scarce: teaching and mentoring children, caring for the elderly, health and hygiene awareness, disaster relief, and skill training for women. Professionals such as doctors, teachers and counsellors are always in short supply. In any of our ten hands, these skills can make a real difference.
Can I earn money by volunteering?
No. Volunteering is unpaid: you give your time and skills freely, and volunteering with Dashapraharanadharini is unpaid too. What you gain is experience, new skills, friendships and the satisfaction of real change, which can also strengthen your CV. If you are looking for paid work, our livelihood hand focuses on skills that help women earn.
