Leadership Development

পরিবার, সমাজ ও কর্মক্ষেত্রে নারীর নেতৃত্বWomen leading in the family, in society and at work

Leadership is not a title. It is the courage to speak up, decide and take others along. This hand helps women find that courage.

Who it's for Homemakers, young women, working women and members of self-help groups.

Why it matters

Why this hand matters

Women already lead: they manage homes, budgets, children and elders every day. Yet many hesitate to speak in a meeting or stand for a committee.

When women take their place in decisions, families, neighbourhoods and workplaces become fairer for everyone.

Our aims

What we want to do

  • Public-speaking and confidence workshops
  • Leadership circles where experienced women mentor younger ones
  • Encouraging women to join local committees, housing societies and school bodies
  • Decision-making and negotiation skills for home and work
  • Celebrating women leaders from our own neighbourhoods

These are our aims. As each one happens, we will share it here with real photos.

Step by step

How it works

  1. 1

    A small circle meets regularly.

  2. 2

Members practise speaking, running a meeting and negotiating, through role-plays of real situations.

  3. 3

    Experienced women mentor newer members.

  4. 4

What is shared in the circle stays in the circle.

Questions people ask

Frequently asked questions

What are some interesting leadership topics for women?
Building confidence and public speaking; negotiation; decision-making; managing money and budgets; handling conflict; balancing work and home; networking and mentoring; leading in local committees or housing societies; and knowing your rights at work. Often the most powerful sessions are women sharing real stories of how they led at home and at work.
What are 7 traits of successful female leaders?
Seven traits people often see in strong women leaders are confidence, clear communication, empathy, resilience, integrity, vision, and the courage to take decisions. None of these is fixed at birth. Each one can be learned and practised, which is why leadership circles and mentoring matter so much.
